Easy Paneer Masala

Hi Guys, I am back after a long week end... Today I prepared Paneer Masala gravy which kind of looked like the restaurant one. So thought of posting it. One of my friend shared this recipe with me and it tastes delicious. So far this is the best way that I like for preparing Paneer.  




Paneer Masala:

Ingredients:

1 cup Paneer cubes
1 big Onion
1 Tomato
2 - 3 Garlic cloves
1 teaspoon Oil
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1 Teaspoon Chilli powder
1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
Milk
Salt
Few Coriander leaves for garnishing

Prepping: ( 25 - 30 min)

Step 1: Cut Paneer into cubes. (I usually buy Paneer from the stores and keep it refrigerated. On the day of preparing Paneer, I keep it outside the fridge for an hour before cutting it into cubes.)

Step 2: Cut onion and tomato into slices. 

Step 3: Heat oil in a non stick pan and when the oil becomes hot, add the onions and garlic. Saute till the onions become soft and translucent. 

Step 4: Add Tomatoes and saute till they start becoming mushy. Now switch off and keep aside for cooling. 

Step 5: Once cooled, grind it in a blender or mixie with little water into a smooth paste
Method of Preparing: (15 min)

Step 1: 

Heat the same pan in which the onions and garlic were sauted. Add little oil to it. 
When the oil becomes hot, add the grinded mixture. Saute till oil becomes separate from the mixture. 


Step 2: 

Add turmeric, chilly powder, garam masala and salt. Mix well. Cover with lid and cook for 3 - 4 minutes. 

Step 3: 

To improve the gravy thickness, add some milk at this stage. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. 

Step 4: 
If you are not happy with the gravy thickness, add some more milk. Otherwise add paneer cubes and cover with lid and cook for 3 minutes. 

Switch off and garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy yummy paneer curry with roti or rice. 

Note: You can use Butter instead of oil in Step 1 of the method of preparing. And also add some cream while garnishing for getting a typical restaurant style Butter Paneer Masala.
